I've learnt to never watch movies based upon old 70's TV shows as the people making them always rip out the core soul of the show. Most of the time the film is turned into a comedy without any humour.
1 of the rare movie adaptations of a tv show that is good was Equalizer but that was because the director seemingly did research and kept what was good.
