Technical Support: DM Outage of Indefinite Length?
I see the notice in the DMs tab about an update starting soon. I think this is a great feature that I love using, but I agree it has some bugs so I wholly support an upgrade. But it doesn't say any sort of estimated amount of downtime and live chat with the customer service rep couldn't give any estimated downtime anyway. I understand not wanting to be held to any firm deadline, but can we at least get a hint if its going to be hours vs days vs weeks vs months?

I simply don't comprehend how a company can start a project with zero clue about how long it will take. Will it be back up by Christmas? By Easter? Will it be back by the next Halley's comet?

If DMs are back by then you'll be able to DM your favorite models about it to make sure they don't miss it either!

I feel silly asking, but I don’t understand the difference between DM and whispering— can someone please explain? Also, how is it different from emailing a model too? Thank you in advance!
DMs kind of split the difference between email and whispering. The main appeal to me is being able to stay in communication with models when one of us is offline or otherwise occupied. The chat persists unlike whispering, but is in real time and available in your main chat window unlike email. For example if I'm going to bed and my favorite model is in a long show, I'm able to send them a message that they can see in their DMs when they're available again and its more organized than an email inbox which might be flooded and isn't searchable by sender.

Some models and customers definitely just seem to use it as a replacement for whispering. But that's not how I use it and with the recent option to split out your whisper conversation into their own panel, I think that's not as useful anymore.
